July 1st Marks Club's 89th Coup D'Etat !!!

presidents-racing[1].jpg

As expected, a bloodless coup d'etat, took place on the steps of the capital....I mean the front steps of Nevillewood Country Club, on July 1st as incoming president Ted Katz was sworn in as our 89th club president. No tanks, infantry or artillery were needed as past president, Diane Karcz graciously stepped down from power. Ted Katz came out of nowhere and flew by Teddy Roosevelt,  Abe Lincoln, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson to win the third heat at PNC Park.

Meet Our Newest Member.....Ric Castro!

013.JPG Ric Castro is getting ready to join our club soon and he will be Ted Katz's first new member during his year as president.  Ric is the CEO of Amicus Corporation in Bridgeville and he and his wife, Karen, reside in Presto. In 1994, Ric was a non-Rotarian member of the Rotary District 7300 Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team that traveled to Sweden and Poland for five weeks.  While he was in Sweden, Ric was offered a job by a Swedish company to open a Philadelphia office in the U.S. for them.  Ah.....the magic of Rotary strikes again!!!  Ric's wife, Karen, is a dentist who was taught at the University of Pittsburgh Dental School by none other than our own local dentist, "Painless" a.k.a. John Mendenhall. I believe Ric was born in Honduras and moved to Pittsburgh when he was two or three.

Chartiers Boys & Girls Club Has 912 Kids Signed Up This Year!
